Dawn Deason, President

Dawn has 23 years of experience in television news, marketing and promotions. She produced and edited major news stories for NBC Nightly News, the BBC World Service and other international networks. Dawn covered news beats in India, The Philippines, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Japan and Spain, as well as the United States. She received a national EMMY award for her work with NBC Sports during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. During her last nine years in television, she focused on promotions and marketing production. She specializes in public service announcement production and non-profit promotions. For the last three years, Dawn has been the Manager of Public Affairs for BloodSource, the second largest non-profit blood center in California. She has worked as an independent media consultant since 1993.

Louis Camera, Treasurer

Lou has worked with the Festival since its inception on one capacity or another. As Director of Student Activities at California State University Sacramento, he helped secure funding through Associated Students Inc to finance the first festival.

David van der Griff, Member

Ever since seeing Dorothy click her ruby red slippers when he was 4 years old, David has been an avid film buff. With over twenty years of experience volunteering for LGBT organizations, David uses his administrative and leadership skills to help organize and promote the Sacramento International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. As a way to support his film going habit, David's day job is Legislative Advocate for the California Hospital Association.
